Religious Habit: Put on the Full Armor of God

Excerpts taken from Daughters of Mary Ceremonies:

"Heavenly Father, in the Name of Jesus I ask You to bless this habit which Your daughter is clothed in today. May she wear it as an outward symbol of having "washed her baptismal robe and made it white in the Blood of the Lamb," (cf. Rev. 7:14) May Our Lady clothe her in Her own Immaculate beauty so that she may someday come with all the spiritual children Whom You will give her to the eternal wedding feast."

The Dress:

"O Mary, Virgin of Virgins, clothe her with the Garment of Praise. May it remind her to pray in the spirit on every possible occasion." (cf. Eph. 6:18)

The Scapular:

"O Mary, conceived without sin, place upon her the Breastplate of Integrity. Let it remind her that her sins have been forgiven and that she has been given the gift of eternal life. (cf. Eph. 6:14) The blessing of this scapular carries with it the power of your maternal love and presence, and God's Healing Love, poured out through your Immaculate Conception. You have chosen Sister to be a witness of God's Healing Love."

The Belt:

"O Mary, Virgin Most Merciful, place the Belt of Truth around her waist. For it is the truth of the Gospel that will set her free." (cf. Eph. 6:14)

The Crucifix:

"O Virgin Most Powerful, place this Cross around her neck as a shield of Faith to put out the burning arrows of the evil one." (cf. Eph. 6:16)

The Rosary:

"O Mother of the Word Incarnate, allow her to receive the Word of God from the Spirit to use as a Sword. We fight not against "flesh and blood" but against principalities and powers, against the world rulers of this present darkness." (cf. Eph. 6:17)

The Veil:

"Mother of our Savior, place upon her head the Helmet of Salvation that she may keep ever before her mind that Jesus suffered, died and rose from the dead for her. "(cf. Eph. 6:17)

The Shoes:

"O Mary, Queen of Peace, place upon her feet the shoes of eagerness to spread the Gospel of Peace". (cf. Eph. 6:15)

The Ring:

"Sister, I betroth you to Jesus Christ, the Son of the Living God, that He may preserve you unharmed. Receive the ring of alliance, the seal of the Holy Spirit, that you may be called the Spouse of Christ. Keep faith with your Bridegroom so that you may come to the wedding feast of eternal joy."
